New Light Theater Project (Strange Country, In the Soundless Awe) will present a revival of SIGHT UNSEEN, Donald Margulies' 1992 Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award-winning drama. Directed by Jerry Heymann, previews begin February 8 at Access Theater in Tribeca, with opening set for February 11. SIGHT UNSEEN is the story of Jonathan Waxman, an American painter who is so successful that his works can fetch astronomical prices sight unseen. While in England for a retrospective of his paintings, Jonathan visits his original muse, Patricia, and her husband. When Jonathan discovers an early painting of Patricia he'd done when they were young lovers, it stirs up unreconciled passions. Darting from past to present and back, the characters are forced to deal with the sadness of lost love, issues of anti-Semitism, and the role of the artist in uncertain times.
