directed by Gia Forakis
The world premiere (performed in English) of a solo theatre project based on the novel of the same name by Imre Kertesz, recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Literature. The book is the story of a Hungarian teenage boy who survives a passage through three WWII concentration camps. Kertész's novel is considered one of the outstanding works of the Holocaust literature and contemporary European literature in general. New York based Hungarian actor Adam Boncz is the first person to have the rights to adapt the novel to the stage. The evening will be a stylized performance interweaving music, images, and video from the story's era.
