Bella's Dream

BELLA'S DREAM a play with dance by Dana Boll

In 1939 Poland, a newlywed Jewish couple, Bella & Raymond Boll, heed the advice of a dream and leave their home with no set destination. Starting a family on the run they find themselves on a journey, of thousands of miles, through Siberia and Uzbekistan, encountering eskimos and gypsies, prisoners and other refugees in this extraordinary true-life survival tale. Through movement, projections, sound, lighting and set design, this play with dance, juxtaposes Bella and Raymond's story with the experiences of their adult son, who, in a Florida supermarket, confronts the anti-semitism, his parents tried to escape so many years ago.
