Revising Germany

directed by Gabrielle Kurlander

Bertolt Brecht’s intimate relationships with four influential women – Helene Weigel, Elisabeth Hauptmann, Ruth Berlau and Margarete Steffin – are the focus of this intense drama produced by the Castillo Theatre. A montage of performed conversation, music, dance and songs – sung by a mysterious Lotte Lenya-esque character – Revising Germany re-examines German history, as well as the legacy of 20th century political theatre.
