Romeo and Juliet

directed by Eric Smith

If the Crucible is the beginning, Romeo and Juliet is the end; is the wildfire. We all know the story of two star crossed lovers, but the real story is the circumstances surrounding the pair. The story of two families operating under assumptions and lies; locked in a feud which no one can remember the cause; neither side listening to their hearts but rather what they’ve been told. The tragedy of the story is not the joint suicide of two people in love, but the futileness of it all. That it could have been prevented if those proverbial “good men” had had the courage to stand up to everything they’d been taught and spoke the truth. Their truth.
