directed by Kelly Johnston
Shakespeare's last and greatest play, The Tempest, will perform at The Secret Theatre opening April 15th, 2010, and playing weekends until April 30th. Directed by veteran Shakespearean director Kelly Johnston, this production features The Secret Theater's own Artistic Director, Richard Mazda, as Prospero, in his stage debut with the company. This production will be an exciting departure from previous Secret Theater shows in its style and direction. Kelly Johnston tells the story in the tradition of Peter Brook's Empty Space. It's all about actors, text, and audience. The space is only created to allow the audience to dream with the actors. Filled with magic and mischief, The Tempest is a story of warring siblings, forbidden love, vengeance, and forgiveness. True to its name, the play is a testament to the stormy nature of human relationships.
